In line with activities geared towards strengthening the microbiology diagnostic capacity of public health laboratories in Ghana, the Centre for Health Systems Strengthening (CfHSS) continues to give in house training to the public health reference laboratories.
In this vein, Prof. Yaw Adu-Sarkodie, an experienced clinical microbiologist and technical consultant for the CfHSS, visited three of the Public Health laboratories in Ghana, namely the Kumasi, Sekondi and Tamale Public Health Labs, to build capacity in documentation practices, standardization of laboratory procedures, implementation of quality control procedures, evaluation of antimicrobial susceptibility testing. He also took a critical look at the general performance of these three public health labs.
