The Ghana Health Service has been a key collaborator with CfHSS in implementing program-based and scientific activities, playing a vital role in areas such as personnel training and laboratory capacity building. On October 17, 2024, CfHSS paid a courtesy call on GHS, where our team had the privilege of meeting with the Director General, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, and Director of Public Health, Dr. Franklin Asiedu-Bekoe. The CfHSS team also engaged with the dedicated team at the National Public Health and Reference Laboratory.
The discussions during the visit were productive and centered on the previous key activities and for the remainder of the 2024 fiscal year and upcoming initiatives for FY 2025. These include efforts to strengthen Ghana’s public health systems, with a particular focus on improving laboratory diagnostics, improving the sample referral system and enhancing disease surveillance nationwide. The meeting further credited the GHS’s critical leadership in driving the country’s public health agenda and emphasized the essential role of collaboration in overcoming pressing health challenges.
CfHSS is honored by the continued partnership with GHS and remains committed to working closely on impactful projects. We eagerly anticipate further joint efforts aimed at improving health outcomes, advancing diagnostic capabilities, and safeguarding the health and well-being of the Ghanaian population.
