IN HOUSE TRAINING OF PUBLIC HEALTH LABORATORIES BY TECHNICAL CONSULTANT

As part of strengthening the microbiology diagnostic capacity of the three Public Health Laboratories (PHLs) in Ghana, the Centre for Health System Strengthening (a locally based health-based NGO) placed mentors in these laboratories to aid in efficiently diagnosing and reporting diseases of public health importance. These mentors together with staff of the Public Health Laboratories, periodically receive in-house training by Technical Consultants (TCs) to assist with laboratory capacity building.

Mr. Kennedy Gyau, Boahen; a consultant microbiologist visited the Kumasi, Sekondi and Tamale Public Health laboratories to monitor activities and organize refresher training on the use of Analytical Profile Index (API) and identification of E.coli 0157:H7.
