On October 16, 2024, CfHSS had the honor of meeting with our key funder, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to review previous project achievements, discuss ongoing ones and explore new opportunities for collaboration. The meeting reaffirmed our shared commitment to strengthening public health systems, with a particular focus on building laboratory capacity and enhancing disease detection efforts in Ghana.
Key discussions revolved around the accomplishments from previous collaborations, progress of current initiatives, such as the implementation of cutting-edge diagnostic technologies and expanding the detection of epidemic-prone pathogens in public health laboratories. This collaborative effort is crucial for improving the country’s public health infrastructure and ensuring a rapid, effective response to emerging health threats.
CfHSS deeply values the continued support of the CDC and the Ghana Health Service and looks forward to strengthening this partnership. Together, we aim to drive impactful outcomes that improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve in Ghana and beyond. The future of our joint initiatives holds great promise for further advancements in public health.
